Japanese provider | Medical care
The provider handles eligibility, medical explanation, consent, blood collection and results. Ask your provider about genetic counselling and referral to a specialist when needed.
Taiwan laboratory | Testing
Specimens collected in Japan are sent to Taiwan. Confirm the test method, scope and reporting conditions in the test-specific documents checked by your medical provider before proceeding.

The usual route is a partner-clinic visit for a doctor's consultation, explanation and blood collection. If travel is difficult, a participating provider may dispatch a nurse under a physician's direction in a selected service area.

Frequently asked questions
Where are specimens sent?
The designated destination is GenePhile Bioscience Laboratory at 柯滄銘婦產科診所 in Taipei, Taiwan. Its public institutional identity and location have been checked.
Does SGH provide genetic counselling or explain results?
Information about plans, listed prices, the process and your preferred area. SGH does not provide medical care, genetic counselling or interpretation of results. The provider handles eligibility, medical explanation, consent, blood collection and results. Ask your provider about genetic counselling and referral to a specialist when needed.
Is NIPT diagnostic?
No. NIPT estimates whether the chance of certain chromosome conditions is higher or lower. A positive result should be discussed with a medical provider and may require diagnostic testing such as amniocentesis.
When can NIPT be taken?
The listed starting point is 10 weeks of pregnancy. Your provider must confirm the appropriate timing and eligibility for your pregnancy and selected test.
How long do results take?
The estimate is 10–14 days after the Taiwan laboratory receives the specimen, not a guarantee. Shipping or repeat analysis can cause delays. Your medical provider explains the results.
Can I receive support in English?
This website provides English information. Please confirm the languages available for individual consultation when making an appointment.
Can blood be collected at my home?
If travel is difficult, a participating provider may arrange a nurse home visit under a physician's direction in a selected area. Provider, area, date and any additional charge must be confirmed before booking.
